Julie’s love of horses started right from when she was a young child.  In fact, she originally got the bug after catching a loose horse at the tender age of just 8 years old!  On returning the horse to its owners, she received a free riding lesson as a reward (...& the rest, as they say, is history!).

 

Thanks to the constant support & backing of her parents, Julie was able to benefit from the best instruction available at the time.  She quickly became a qualified riding instructor, after training for 2 years under one of the region’s top dressage judges, Mary-Ann Horne.

 

Since qualifying as an AI at the age of 18, Julie’s equestrian skills have been further extended through many instances of breaking in & schooling young horses over the years.  Her teaching skills have also been further developed through working with her many students (...both human & equine!) during the years since she qualified, & her expertise in all 3 equine disciplines -  Dressage, Cross Country & Jumping - has been benefiting her students at Pine Tree Farm since the family moved here in August 2003.

 

Her approach is one of ‘work hard, but have fun too’, so her students often find themselves taking part in impromptu fancy dress gymkhanas & the like, as well as dedicating lots of effort at schooling & developing natural horsemanship.

 

When she’s not working on the yard, looking after her own horses, mucking-out, riding or teaching, Julie occasionally manages to spend time with husband Richard & their 3 children!
